READ to RISE is excited be hosting the Cape Flats Book Festival on 4-5 November 2023 at West End Primary School (Merrydale Avenue, Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain).

We have an incredible line-up of authors, poets, talks, workshops, etc. planned for both adults and children.

Speakers including:
Sindiwe Magona, Diana Ferris, Siphokazi Jonas, (she speaks on Saturday from 15h20 to 16h00 ) see program below.

We are honoured to have Banyana Banyana Head Coach, Desiree Ellis, speak about her book MAGIC at our Opening Ceremony on Saturday 4 November 2023 at 9:30-10:30.

There is a Poetry & Identity Workshop by Hani du Toit (Life Righting Collective) and session for aspiring writers by Joanne Hichens (Tattoo Press) and Karina Szczurek (Karavan Press).
