September 2025 – Maputo, Mozambique – Celebrated Mozambican producer, musician and cultural ambassador Moreira Chonguiça today unveils Na ku randza, the second release in his musical trilogy honouring Mozambique’s most influential artists during this milestone year of 50 years of independence .

Featuring rising Mozambican vocalist Pauleta Muholove, Na ku randza (“I Love You” in Changana) is a heartfelt reinterpretation of a classic by the late Gito Baloi—one of Mozambique’s most beloved voices and co-founder of the iconic South African world music trio Tananas.

 This reimagined version preserves the soul of Baloi’s original while infusing it with Chonguiça’s distinctive production and Muholove’s vocal artistry.

The Na ku randza video was filmed at Maputo’s historic Central Train Station (CFM), which this year celebrates its 130th anniversary. 

The setting carries profound symbolism: for decades, trains departed from here carrying Mozambican men to work in South African mines—a journey marked by sacrifice, longing, and resilience. 

Against this backdrop, Na ku randza becomes more than a love song: it reflects journeys taken, bonds stretched across borders, and the enduring heartbeat of Mozambican identity.

“Gito Baloi paved the way for so many of us,” says Chonguiça. “Na ku randza is my way of saying thank you, of keeping his music alive and accessible to new audiences—especially in a year when we reflect on how far we’ve come as a nation and as artists.”

The single follows the success of Dá Ou Não Dá featuring Mr. Kuka, and continues Chonguiça’s trilogy celebrating Mozambique’s past, present and future creativity on the global stage.
