Rebroadcast: Sunday at 9:00 PM

Iโ€™m delighted to welcome Marcus Brewster, Writer-at-Large, to The Show Business of Entertainment on CapeTalk this Thursday evening.

Marcus first reached celebrity status in 2001 as a judge on the inaugural season of Pop Idol, but his influence in the entertainment and communications industries began long before that.

As International Promotions Manager at EMI, he worked with global icons including Queen, Tina Turner, and Roxette โ€” shaping international campaigns during a defining era in the music business.

Within a decade, Marcus became chairman of his own full-service PR and communications agency, representing clients such as Business and Arts South Africa (BASA)Louis VuittonSAP, and Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

His firm became the most awarded PR consultancy in Africa, earning both FinWeek AdReview PR Consultancy of the Year and Global PR Consultancy of the Year in 2010.

After relocating to Malta in 2017, Marcus pivoted creatively โ€” writing his debut mystery/thriller novel. Over the past seven years, he has immersed himself in the international publishing industry, studying what drives books onto the New York Times bestseller list and the challenges authors face in gaining traction on a global scale.

On This Weekโ€™s Show

On The Show Business of Entertainment, weโ€™ll explore:

  • The global business of books
  • What separates bestsellers from the rest
  • The power of PR in publishing success
  • Reinventing a career across music, media, PR, and fiction
  • Working internationally from a Malta base

This promises to be an insightful and wide-ranging conversation about creativity, strategy, and succeeding in the global entertainment marketplace.

Listen live: Thursday, 26 February at 9 PM on CapeTalk or DSTV Channel 885

Rebroadcast: Sunday at 9 PM
